Generally the more money you’re willing to spend, the faster you’ll advance, so if you want to aim for advancing levels then buying things like buildings and gaining space by getting rid of animals/trees etc is your best bet. Get as many friends as possible and help out on their farms and ask your friends to fertize your crops for maximum XP. Obviously pick crops which you’ll be able to harvest quickly and that won’t wilt (crops begin to wilt after double the time it takes for them to be availabe to harvest eg. strawberries are fully grown after 4 hours and wilt after 8 etc)
you can only help out on your friends farms once every 24 hours, but if you click on ‘my neighbours’ there’s usually a section near the top telling you of other friends farms where you can earn coins and XP. Send friends gifts too – hopefully they will be generous back!
Overall though, you just have to be patient unfortunatly, i play farmville alot and am on level 32 but i’ve yet to find any real cheats or anything
hope i helped, enjoy farmville but it’s stupidly addictive! :)

    Start working on ribbons.

Yes, you will be working on ribbons before even planting a crop. The first ribbon you should focus on is Local Celebrity. Go out and proceed to add 50 friends to your farm (as your first step). To get more friends, search Facebook for “add me” groups. There are a lot of groups out there with hundreds of thousands of farmers all looking for more people to add as neighbors.

Hand-in-hand with the Local Celebrity ribbon is the Gifted, not Spoiled! ribbon. Accept 21 free gifts and keep them in your box. If you have a lot of friends on Facebook you probably already have a lot of these free gift requests. Accept one of each type of gift, do not place it on your farm, and you will end up with a lot of free XP and coins.

Some ribbons will earn themselves, like the high roller. You will get this one as soon as you make your first harvest.

But, in the mean time, some more easy ribbons you should do are the Noah’s Ark and Tree Hugger. For the Noah’s Ark achievement, just get 1 of each standard eight animals, harvest from them, and you’ll get all the way up through the blue ribbon. The same thing goes for the Green Thumb ribbon – save a corner of your farm and 1 new crop there (only need to harvest 1 crop 1 time to count for the achievement).

When you go to bed at night, plant an 8 hour crop.

Don’t waste your field time – an 8 hour crop at night is good for making cash. Pumpkins are a good low-level crop for farming at night – a 16×16 field of pumpkins will produce a 5,888 coin net profit.

Once you get high enough level (and have enough coins), switch to tomatoes, and finally sugar cane.

You should buy 30 rest tents with your money. This will give you a lot of bonus experience points for the Architect ribbon. Don’t bother with saving up for homes and other buildings just yet if you are new to the game, once you get rolling you will have plenty of cash for that later.

You’ll also want to trap your farmer. This popular cheat increases the speed at which your farmer works by 2-3 times. What you do is trap your farmer at the center of the farm in hay bales, fences, animals, or whatever you like. When your farmer is trapped, he will automatically harvest, plant, plow, or build instantly with no travel time. The simple fact that he does not need to move to each planting square saves tons of time.

Maximizing your profits per hour will maximize the profitability of your farm. You have to take into consideration the amount of time it takes to grow the crop, the XP you get from it, and the profit. I recommend planting the crops that will give you the most bang for your buck. [At a lower level, you'll probably want to stick to berry crops.]

The top 10 most profitable crops (as ranked by coins per hour) are ranked as follows:

    1. Peas – 7.65 coins per hour
    2. Asparagus – 7.63 coins per hour
    3. Onions – 7.5 coins per hour
    4. Sugar Cane – 7.4 coins per hour
    5. Grapes – 7.39 coins per hour
    6. Tomatoes – 7.25 coins per hour
    7. Sunflowers – 7.17 coins per hour
    8. Black Berries – 7.1 coins per hour
    9. Coffee – 6.75 coins per hour
    10. Green Tea – 6.75 coins per hour
